Candidates for the 2010-2011 Crim Exec

President:

John Kerby

Hi, my name is John Kerby and I am running for the Criminology Students Association as President. This year, working alongside the Criminology Exec as well as the student representatives, my intentions will be to try and meet the needs of all undergraduate criminology students. Hopefully we can encourage students to get involved and make the best of their undergrad years. My goal for this year is to make each and every voice heard.

I believe I am an excellent candidate for this position because I am dedicated, hardworking and enjoy being active in the community. I have past experience with planning and promoting events as VP Communications for the 2009-2010 school year. I am very excited to continue to be part of such an important association and look forward to seeing each and every one of you out at the Criminology Wine and Cheese on March 4th to elect the new members of the CSA.

Thank you and vote John Kerby for President!

VP Social:

Jean-Sébastien Poudrier

To begin, my name is Jean-Sébastien Poudrier. I am 18 years old and I am a second year crim student, with a minor in french.

I am running for the position of VP Social for the Criminologie Students Association. I love crim, as much as I like to meet new people. I find it extremely important that students love what they are studying, and that's why I want to make Crim students have the best time possibel. Although I do love Crim I find myself wanting to get more involved so I can help everyone have as good a time in Crim as I do. I don't want Crim students experience to be simple 4 years of studying, but rather remembered as amazing memories.

VP Social Commisioner:

Nicole Pomfret

My name is Nicole Pomfret and I am running for Social Commissioner for the Criminology Students' Association. If elected I will:
-Work hard during the summer to get a good start for Shinerama by doing many diverse fundraisers and come up with a lot of original ideas to be one of the top fundraisers during Shine Day.
-Plan the best 101 week Criminology has seen with inclusive events that will welcome the whole class of 2014.
-Plan events during the year that will appeal to all students in Criminology from fundraisers for the lifers' group to hockey games and pub nights.
-Increase Crim's presence at all SFUO events during the year by promoting them to everyone through regular e-mails so we can show off how awesome our association is.

As VP Social Commissioner, I will work to achieve an inclusive association and welcome everyone in criminology to all events so they can meet others from school outside of the class setting.

Fabio Madonna

Hello, my name is Fabio Madonna, and I would like to run for the position
of Social Commissioner in the Criminology Student Association. If elected
to this position, I would dedicate my time to addressing the desires and
needs of the students studying Criminology. My main goal is to work with
other faculties to maximize the student experience on campus. Furthermore,
by spearheading fundraising initiatives and raising awareness on campus,
mainly for, but not limited to, students in Criminology, I will promote
new ideas to create a more cohesive student body that will work together
to benefit the community, as a main course of action to enhance social and
academic university life for all students.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and remember, vote
Fabio Madonna!

VP University Affairs:

Chantal McMillan

Hello, my name is Chantal McMillan and I am running for the position of Vice President University Affairs for the Criminology Students Association. As VP University Affairs it will be my duty to make sure all students are aware of possible career choices after graduation, available services on campus academically, and everything the Criminology Students Association has to offer for students.

I plan to continue having a criminology wine and cheese and career fair for the students in Field Placement to showcase potential career choices in the criminology field and for Professors and students to mingle. I hope to make First year Students to Criminology at the University of Ottawa aware of the available services to them academically, for example: SASS, Career Services, Peer Help Centre, etc. and how these services may help them achieve their academic goals. Also I plan to make scholarships more available and known to all criminology students on campus. I will also do a clothing line, in both first and second semester dependant on demand.

I have previous experience with the Criminology Students Association. In my first year I was the first year representative and in my second year I was Vice President External. I am confident that due to my past experiences with the Criminology Students Association I will be able to bring my knowledge and leadership skills to next year’s executive. VOTE Chantal McMillan for Vice President University Affairs!

VP Communications Franco

Pierre White

Hello, my name is Pierre White, and I’m running for Vice-President Communication Francophone for the Criminology Student Association

As your vice-president Communication Francophone, I will ensure that all francophone students stay up to date with the events that will be organized throughout the year, by continuing class presentations so we can reach the maximum amount of students to participate in our events. I will also make sure that the Criminology Student Association website and the Facebook group stays up to date with the latest events, etc.

I believe that it is also important to get your feedback on events so I would add a section on the website where the students can easily post questions, comments and opinions about events, etc. I will also put a lot of effort in maintaining the bilingualism in at all of the Criminology Student Association, so that all students can have an equal chance of participating in events.

This year I was representative for third year students so I already have a bit of experience working with the criminology student association. I’m sure that with my determination, my positive attitude and my knowledge I will be able to bring a lot for the criminology student association.
